What we’re building
Kenya deserved a car marketplace that’s also a newsroom.
For decades, buying a car in Kenya meant a Saturday tour of Westlands, a WhatsApp group full of opinions and a lot of guessing on price. MotorLink is the thing that should have existed all along: a verified dealer directory, a live pricing engine and an independent editorial team — under one roof, with one set of rules.
The four rules
Principles we do not bend.
- 01
Price without spin
Every KES number we publish is backed by live listings or a matching dealer transaction. If we can't back it, we don't print it.
- 02
Dealers who answer their phone
We publicly track response time. Dealers who ghost buyers lose their verified badge — no grace, no exceptions.
- 03
Independent reviews
Our editors don't accept press cars, gifts or weekend trips from automakers. What we review we buy, borrow from dealers at cost, or rent.
- 04
Kenya-first context
Every buying guide is road-tested on Kenyan roads with Kenyan fuel and Kenyan service realities — not translated from a US magazine.
Editorial independence
How to tell a paid story from a real one.
We take advertising and we run a commercial marketplace — but the newsroom does not. Every piece of commercial content on MotorLink carries a visible yellow SPONSOREDchip, identifies the sponsor, and is written by our commercial team. The editorial team does not take briefs from sponsors. If you ever see a line that feels like an ad that isn’t labelled, write to support@motorlink.co.ke.
- No paid reviewsA dealer cannot buy a positive review. We'll label sponsored content with a yellow chip — always.
- Open correctionsEvery correction has a timestamp, a visible note, and an editor's initials. We don't stealth-edit.
- Source transparencyData stories carry a methodology panel explaining the sample size, period and gotchas.
- No affiliate steeringWe never rank one dealer above another because of a commercial relationship. Promotions are declared.
